The Ela Leather Chaise Longue from Giorgetti
A sculptural, six-position lounger from an Italian furniture house with over a century of craftsmanship behind it.
The Ela leather chaise longue, designed by Chi Wing Lo for Giorgetti, is a luxurious lounger built on a base of polished solid maple.
The carefully chosen combination of materials is one of its most distinctive features — the seat and pillow are covered in leather or saddle leather, sitting on a metal frame that connects to the wooden structure below. Its fluid shape and the contrast between materials give it a sculptural presence at first glance, with the comfort becoming apparent only once you actually sit in it.
Designed for comfort, the back frame and seat are built from structural polyurethane and cold-foam flexible polyurethane. At around $8,000 retail, the price includes a manual glazed nickel-plated metal and stainless steel mechanism under the seat that adjusts the chaise into six different positions.
Chi Wing Lo's design was built to draw attention — a piece with a strong personality and multiple sitting positions, equally suited to the private dimension of a home or office as to a more public, open space.
